Ten of My Favourite Tarot Decks…

Now… I’m not saying these are my top ten and even though some may well indeed be in my all time top ten … these are not in any particular order…

These are all decks that I favour in one way or another for various reasons and are the 10 that caught my eye today… Ask me another day to choose 10 and you’ll no doubt see a few changes… Already… I’m shuffling these around in my head and thinking of decks that I’ve left out… and should I have put those in instead… 😀

Oh! My tarot hell!! 😀

LOL and as is to be expected in the life of a tarot reader… Just as you’ve uploaded your list of 10…

Knock! Knock! Knock! on the door…

The arrival of another contender…

Here’s number 11 on my list of 10 decks that have caught my attention today…

  1. I don’t possess 10 packs of tarot cards, let alone have to narrow it down to a choice of 10 LOL! I do love tarot and oracles cards though, my fave would be Osho’s Zen Tarot. Thanks for sharing yours 😀

  2. I refuse to count how many decks I have… that way whenever Mr S asks me how many I have, I can honestly reply – I don’t know! 😀 They’ve been gathered over nearly 30 years, so I think there’s not that many really… I certainly have seen collections that have made mine look tiny in comparison! Yes… Osho’s is a delicious deck 😉

  3. Haha! Wonderful post! I only have one deck….The Gendron Tarot…and LOVE it. I think my head should explode should I have 10 decks! Then again…I have this deck for me…not to read for others…yet 🙂

    1. Lol I’ve not come across the Gendron… I’ll have to google it 😀 My decks are like friends… Different ones for different adventures… Some are always by my side and others pay visits that are few and far between. 😉

    1. I absolutely love the colours in the Crystal Tarot. I’ve only ever since it once in the flesh and I bought it on the spot as I knew I’d go away pining if I didn’t 😀 I’m sure one will find its way into your collection when the time is right 😉

    1. Yes… I have a fair few oracles as well 😀 I’d be hard pressed to pick the same 10 consistently… I do have my absolute favourite. A friend asked me a few months back – What 3 things would go grab if the house was on fire? I said… My tarot decks… She stopped me there and said No! Just one deck! Oh… OK… Mystereum, Woody (the cat) and one of the kids! She said – Karen! That’s outrageous! You have FOUR KIDS!! I said… yeah… I know… Mr S will grab the other THREE… you know… teamwork ‘n’ all that! 😀

  4. Thanks for showing those decks, I always love looking at the art of tarot decks.
Personally I have loved using the Secret Dakini Deck, collage by Penny Slinger for almost 30 years now. I do use The Cartouche ..Egyptian deck a lot. I also love The Voyager Tarot, and sometimes use The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson, which is a black and white drawing, astrological correspondence deck. I use The Goddess Oracle by Doreen Virtue, and recently bought Brian Froud’s Faery oracle, which is lavishly sumptuous and also bought the Renaissance Tarot which I’m really enjoying as well.

    1. You’re welcome! Thanks for sharing your list, I’ll have to look a couple of those up. My daughter has the D.V. Goddess oracle and I often borrow it.I also have the Voyager, that’s a great deck-very interesting. Love the Hermetic! I’ve written a review on that somewhere on here… Tarot art is endlessly fascinating, so much to chose from… 😉

    1. I guess at first glance they do look daunting but they are pieces of Art and if you take them one by one you’ll find some meaning in there. One of the things I find interesting is often I read for people who’ve never seen a deck before and they make really insightful comments and can pick up details in the image that I’ve not spotted before. I particularly love it when kids pick up a deck as they will just talk and narrate what they see and tell me a story. Some ‘amateurs’ are surprisingly expert… But we do live in a world where we are surrounded by imagery and symbols used to convey messages… I’m guessing that if you picked up a deck you’d be surprised at how much you know… 😉
