Joy got outta the closet…

Come on in… Did you arrive via Tarot by  Arwen or Chloe McCraken’s Inner Whispers?

This blog hop was set by Olivia Destrades of First Earth Tarot… she said something about tell me your personal story about Joy…

Well… you asked for it… So here it is 😀

It all started as an ordinary day in an ordinary way like so many other ordinary days that had gone before… and there seemed to be nothing unusual with that particular Saturday morning lie in until… Mr S popped his head around the door and tossed the post onto the bed and said –

Woman! What on earth have you been up to now?

I swiveled a bleary eye in his direction and asked him what he was on about…

This he said… and he picked it up and waived it around… this!

What? Junk mail? You wake me up for junk mail?

Yeah… Who the hell is Joey Blessing? Have you got a secret identity? Are you living a double life?

I heaved a weary sigh and educated the last Luddite in the ins and outs of  computer generated spam and how I guessed that maybe  my business name – Pure & Blessed may have been picked up and that this was some sort of random best guess…

Oh… He says and starts to wander off then I hear him chuckling as he walks back into the room and says – Hey!! Drop the E and that is you?

What? What do you mean?

JOEY!!! JOEY BLESSING!!! Drop the E and that’s you down to a T… JOY!!! JOY BLESSING!!! 😀

I rolled it around my head and thought mmmm I wonder what sort of person Joy is? I like that name… I’m going to take it and play with it!

So… she was pretty much a quiet whisper at first, somewhere in the back of my head but she was there and I’d not long set up in business… and Jeez!! Good staff are hard to find… even when you can afford to pay them… But when you’re setting up on a shoestring…Pffft 😀  So… I set Joy B to work… I gave her lots of little jobs… Mostly things that I found a bit daunting. Every so often I would get an offer out of the blue and get asked – can you do this? And I’d think oh… I’m not sure… but Joy would leap in and call out – Sure! Yeah! No problem! I can do that! So… thanks to Joy and her BIG mouth… I found myself doing some pretty varied things… Things that I’d never imagined myself doing… One such thing was delivering a talk on creative marketing ideas for small businesses.

And there were many other things but that talk was where Joy started deciding that she’d had enough of working for me and wanted to venture off and start doing her own things… So… before I know it, she’s only gone off and signed up for a course in stand up comedy… She gets a taste for it and suddenly starts getting offers to go compere…

Look… here she is… my imaginary Girl Friday…  She didn’t even give me notice that she was off!

So…old Joy B… she’s a bit of a messed up mystic and waffles on about how she got sacked for being useless from Armchair Oracles and Midnight Moaners and when it comes to divination when she not garbling confusing messages from the other side, her weapon of choice is the sarcasm ball…

Anyway… I’ll try and get her to hush down for a minute whilst I tell you about a little Tarot game I play…

So… over the last couple of years, I’ve been along to many Burlesque events and tossed down my cards to speed read…

And I noticed something very interesting started to happen…

Now, the method I was originally using was The Treasure of The Stones… and if you want to find out how that is done correctly then I suggest you go track down Jordan Hoggard…

I’m not even sure I remember the method any more as I’ve bastardised it so many times… But what I noticed was that time and time again I read for performers and they would go oh!!! WOW!!! That top line is me and the bottom line is my Alter Ego…

So… here’s what I threw down for Karen/Joy…

So… I’m not much in the mood to do a full reading and I asked Joy but she started whining about her rights…

So… I’ll whizz through to this… and skip right through to the end, because… as I’m sure I’ve mentioned before… I am inherently lazy…

Well… I’d looked at my cards and Joy’s XIII stood out… That position is for where things are heading…

So mmmm…. Death…. Transformation… What does Joy want to transform?

Well… apparently or so she tells me… When she’s on stage she experiences a kind of hyper-reality… an acute awareness of all the senses firing… floods of words jostling to come out… thinking forwards and backwards at the same time… feeling every cell in the body come alive… and it’s a bit intense…

So, I lay down the Motherpeace over dear old M as it seemed to calm those dynamic energies and also because it pleasures me beyond all reason that they sit so sweetly and neatly within the swoops of those arches…

And over Death now sits the 9 of Wands in serene Lotus position… All those intense energies fanned out behind like a peacock’s tail in display and in the centre… zen… like… calm…

I said-Hey! Joy! What do you think of that?

She just laughed and said what she always says… Yeah! No worries! I can do that! 😀
