Now… you see these boots? Well, they came marching into my wardrobe a couple of weeks back at quite a convenient time. My old boots that I mostly live and die in had decided to fall to pieces and it annoyed me immensely as I had places to go and stuff to do and braving the crowds to shop and replace them was not a particularly inviting task…
I turned up at a friend’s place and she knew nothing of my tattered footwear but there when I arrived, waiting for me were these boots… Do you want these? she asked me.
Now some may say that that was manifestation and maybe Law of Attraction at it’s finest…
I’m not convinced… I’m a lapsed Scientist and in my head I carry memories of Newton’s 3rd Law:
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
And I also carry echoes of thing’s I’ve read such as The Luck Factor: The Scientific Study of the Lucky Mind…
Though mostly in my mind it was a little bit of synchronicity and serendipity with an pragmatic undercurrent…
See…My friend had asked me to create a painting for her, when I got there, she’d not had time to get to the cash point to pick up any money… she’s known me long enough to know my taste and passion for boots…
It was a mutually beneficial arrangement for two somewhat lazy women to both get what they wanted without having to add any further errands to the day…
Now to be perfectly honest, I don’t really care what you call that… Luck, Laziness, Law of Attraction…
Take your pick, it bothers me not, as at the end of the day… everyone is happy with the arrangement…
Admittedly, I’ve never been a massive fan of L.O.A. mostly because it seems to be open to massive misinterpretations and misuse… and I think it’s getting worse…
I’ve noticed L.O.A.being bandied about between buzzwords of positivity and negativity, in a manner that is well… basically a Hustler’s dream… Yes, L.O.A. is being abused… to excuse and exempt people of taking personal responsibility…
I witnessed something recently that would have been farcical had it not been for the number of people’s livelihoods that were being affected…
It was quite surreal to see someone scapegoat a client and blame dismal footfall on the day, as being down to that person’s negative attitude and to say that the place would have been filled if only they had smiled more…
Well… that’s an interesting perspective…
With the best will in the world… I’m going to take quite some convincing to believe that a Colgate smile will magically attract people out of their houses and in to a building so well, that you can justify not doing the weeks and weeks of promoting and advertising that were promised…
Yeah… I’m all for the power of positive thinking…
But when it appears that some people’s idea of positivity is to pile on the BS so high so it seems they can no longer smell it…
Well… that gets my goat…
And then to watch the accusations fly in all directions when called out on BS…
Well… that particular brand of L.O.A. seems to be a cosmic joke that fails to magically manifest this Magician to LOL
I was brought up with an odd expression…
Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which gets filled first
I have little faith in people who over promise and under deliver.
Call me old fashioned but… if you’re going to talk the big talk then you’d best get your boots on to walk the walk…
I don’t think
Hello Cosmos! Hello Cosmos!
Emergency delivery NOW
is going to cut it too often, no matter how much you smile, if you consistently choose to dodge out of work…
I guess it’s only a matter of time before Karma steps into those boots you neglected to fill… I’ve heard a rumour that Karma likes to kick ass…
Whatev’… personally I think people sow the seeds of their own undoing… Though it does somewhat amuse me to think of Karma coming out to play and hearing wafting through the ether…
We’ve got a code red! LOA 999
Oh yes… Typical “when will I meet my future husband?” type… If you don’t get out of your house, then it does not matter how positive you think, woman!!!! Aaaargh, sometime I just want to bang my head on the table.
