I drew this picture a couple of years ago… there are many reasons that I choose to draw cards but the two I’ll mention today are that
- I really am too lazy to read books that come with decks and even when I do make the effort the words slip quickly from my memory… plus… one thing that I do remember well is a lecturer telling me that if you understand something then you never have to memorise it…
- When I draw, I notice details…
So… almost a week ago, there was a turn of events that very strongly brought back into my mind the details that I noticed 2 years ago… I remember drawing those flying bricks and thinking that they looked like tiny fists of fury…
You don’t need to know the full gory details of what happened… but let’s just say that brothers and school holidays are not always a perfect mix… and there was an outburst just like that ziggy-zaggy lightning bolt blasting from the Fool’s mouth… and then tiny fists were indeed flung in fury… And resulted in a trip to A&E for 5 hours and 6 stitches…
But the dust settled and all is well…
Then a few days later… my attention was drawn to a Tower moment of my own that had been slowly building over the last 4 months…
I’d decided to take on some contract work and I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to do it but decided to give a go for a fixed amount of time and see how it went… Now I’d decided on 6 months… but already it was making me feel like this… A bit topsy turvy and under assault…
So… interestingly… my son’s Tower moment twirled into mine… as because I’d ended up down A&E, I didn’t put in any hours that week… So I got a phone call and was told my contract was being terminated. Now… this was a bit out of order as I was under no obligation to fulfill a minimum number of hours and was supposedly free to choose at will the times I wanted to work… And usually I would have been quick to have pointed this out and argue the toss…
Instead… I said… Yeah fine! See ya!
So… I put the phone down and scratched my head…Why did I let it go so easily?
Yeah… I was fed up with the hassle that came with the role but it was something deeper… I sat and thought… and I thought some more whilst I sat… and then I looked down and realised that I had been drawing…
Then it dawned upon me… I’d had an idea that I’d been slowly working on prior to this contract… and now I’d realised that I’d put it on the back burner without even noticing…
My ideas are coming back… And my Chariot is back on track…

Fascinating how things turn out sometimes, and the connections…

It was pretty fractally (not sure that’s word but I figure you’ll know what I mean…) That was just one strand… There were a few more branches that spiralled off or maybe had fed in depending on how you look at it… It’s hard to sequence multi-streams into linear order… Lol a bit like the question my youngest asked the other day – What does the number 9 smell like? 😀

I definitely get that nonlinear thing, and the smell of the number 9 (it smells like damp soil, actually). My son, a long time ago (I think he was about 4), once asked which was faster, the speed of light or the speed of time. We had to think about that one…

Yes! I can smell that 9… Kids ask such great questions… I’m also going to have to think on that… It may be quite some time before I can shed any light on it… 😉
