Cast in the role of High Priestess…

Every so often, a card will cross my path and I decide to while away a few days with it…

So…

This week I have been mostly sleeping with the High Priestess…

And it  turns out, she likes to sleep… she likes to sleep a lot…

So… I’ve just emerged from a two day sleep-a-thon and I’ve probably slept  the number of hours I would usually sleep in two weeks…

And the dreams have been fast and furious and pretty exhausting… But irritatingly, they escaped my memory… and attempts I’ve made to catch them in a note book…. well… you could class that as an epic fail! My hand threw them down in scrawl that even a pharmacist would struggle to transcribe…

So… another plan was needed to snare the messages…

And I often find that one of the best ways to draw down the energy of the card, is to literally draw the card…So… out came the card and a trusty sharpie… and as my hand followed the sweeps and curves of the lines, I started to laugh, as I thought back to earlier in the week, to day 1 with the High Priestess…

So… I had taken myself off for a walk, to a favourite park… a vast and wide green haven sitting in the hurly burly of the city and I had planted myself under an avenue of trees… the wind whipped up and the leaves shook and the rustles soon swept out all the city sounds and I lost myself for who knows how long… certainly long enough to lose the feeling in my legs…

I stood a while and shook my legs and then I headed off walking in a free wheeling, lolling, rolling gait and absently minded found myself in a shop in the centre of town. I stood in the shop and wondered what I’d gone there for… then I drifted over to a chap behind the counter and found myself saying –

OK… I don’t know if I’ve dreamed this or not…. but… I have it in my head, that you have a set of crystal runes for sale…?

He says – No… we used to do them years ago… but not anymore… in fact I don’t know where you would get any…

Oh! I’m sure you do have some… A set of mixed stones with runes?

NO! Have you tried (huge list of shops all over the midlands…) or maybe the internet?

No no NO! I said… I’m sure you have some here!

He calls over the chapess from the other side (other side of the shop… not other side…OTHER SIDE! :D)

Do you know where this young lady can get a set of crystal runes?

Oh… she says… We did have a set of rose quartz but they are gone… do you want me to see if I can order you some in?

NO! I said… I want a mixed set of crystal runes in a silver box and I want to buy them from you … today… I’ve already seen myself using them later… you must have some! Go look and tell me what crystals you have got…

And she wanders off to the cabinet at the back and I turn back to the chap and I say to him – I’m not leaving here without them…

He gives me an indulgent smile… and I wonder if he is thinking – oh please don’t hurt me crazy lady…

The chapess sprints back waving a box in the air – WELL BOGGER ME!!! LOOK WHAT I’VE FOUND!!!

Do you want to handle them?

No! Bag’em Blossom! Those babies are mine! They called me down…

So… I thought to myself… well why strain my brain trying to remember my dreams…

Let’s call in a supporting cast to see how I am cast in the role of High Priestess…

So… let me introduce my cast of runes…

So… let’s start at the bottom… where are my foundations placed?

Here is Wunjo – Joy… it is a rune of restoration, of finding joy by becoming fully connected with new energies and also with energies that have been held deep down and previously blocked off… It is associated with the joy that comes through work, particularly creative endeavours where work is done with the hand…

Next I move up to the moon… What am I being told in dreams?

Welcome Berkana – The Birch Tree… this is a rune of growth and rebirth… it is a rune of inception. It feels to be a place where gentle patience is required whilst new ideas flow in to blossom and ripen into their new forms…

I turn to the hands… what energies should I be receptive to and allow myself to receive?

Kano – Torch… This one makes me laugh, as it talks of being open to receiving gifts and offers of help from a male partner to a female partner… and I’ve been very blessed in that department this week… Mr S has indeed been most generous and so I will not lecture him on blowing the budget but instead offer up sincere thanks! 😀

Dagaz – Day… This talks of transformation… not rapid… but more slow and measured… like taking 10 years to become an overnight success! It also relates to the Sun, so I want to flip that back to tarot as the Sun is one of my birth cards and I read this as transformation coming from allowing my own personality out to shine… by being open to living a life less ordinary…

And finally in the centre… how do I draw all these energies together?

Gebo – A Gift… This rune talks of partnerships on every level, love, business, union with higher self/divine…
