Waxtober 23

I guess the first thing that strikes me about today’s waxing is the complete shift in energy… Yesterday’s image spoke of closing off chapters… Of doors closing so other doors can open. Today’s image comes swimming in like salmon heading upstream… Everything feels to have changed from what has come before… New colours and new shapes…

It reminds me of the casting kit I made with a metal salmon and 9 nuts that had fallen from my Hazel tree. I wonder why I don’t use it more often. When I made it, I slipped with the pyrography tool and plunged the red hot tip into the pad of my finger tip… I don’t remember it being particularly painful at the exact time of mishap… I remember the smell… The weird biochemical rush in my body as shakes and sweats kicked in and thinking – oh fuck! This is really going to hurt later. I had a bowl of cold water on my desk and I sank my finger in to it…mumblimg fff… Fff… Fuckityfuckffffffuck… I watched the blister appear on my fingerprint, in the place where I now have a 2cm scar only visible when the light hits it just so… Yeah, given that painful birth, you think I’d use these more often… Why don’t I? Because I forget I have them… You know what they say about worst pain being soonest forgot… Anyway let’s cast them out…

OK… Hard to tell from the photo but my salmon has a concave and convex side… When it lands convex side down, like it has here, I read that as an indication that the reading needs to be a little secret… Surrounding the salmon, 5 nuts also face down… A pentagram amplifying the hush hush don’t reveal all yet… The two that sit together on the left – a mountain and a shield… It’s a wonky mountain… I worked that post burn, thinking finish this now or risk it not being done and then you’ve been seared for nothing… Continuing work staved off the pain… Sometimes pushing through obstacles bring a kind of protection…

Down at the bottom, a Y shaped symbol… It’s a funny thing how a very simple shape can hold different meanings on different days…

The 9th nut leapt from the table, out of the reading, down on to the floor, forcing me to grope around to reclaim it…

I turn it over to see what it is… The arrow… My arrow flew! Generally in a reading I look at that to pinpoint a direction… Today I’m told that moving is important… knowing the direction in advance is not important… I cast my eye back to the Y and today add another meaning to its list… Today I see a dowsing rod… Feel the way… Intuit the way… Remember the salmon doesn’t need a map to complete a cycle… Not that a fish needs a bike… But you catch my drift…
